Alpaca Royal, 360-459-5698
Alpaca Royal, Luxury Fabrics. Why Alpaca? It's natural, functional, and luxurious.

Alpacas produce one of the world’s finest and most luxurious natural fibers. Due to the native climate of the alpaca high in the Andes Mountains, it is dependant upon its dense, yet extremely soft hair (fiber) for protection. With temperatures ranging from extreme heat to below freezing, all in the course of one day, the fiber is uniquely capable of insulating the animal and keeping it comfortable in the face of extreme weather conditions.

Precipitation does not readily penetrate an alpaca garment allowing the wearer to remain warm and dry. This property also aids in wicking moisture away from the skin for better comfort and warmth. It stays warm when it does finally become wet and dries extremely quickly. While being warm in cold weather, it can breathe and is comfortable in any season.

Alpaca fiber naturally repels odor and dirt. A very gentle cleaning and/or airing-out will provide for years of utility and beauty. Woven alpaca remnants have been found in remarkably good condition dating as far back as 2500 years. Alpaca fiber is stronger and warmer than wool with an incredibly soft, supple touch and a wonderful fineness. The fiber is semihollow making it very lightweight while possessing thermal warmth unlike any other natural fibers.

The Australians, known as the premier sheep wool producers of the world, have recently become very interested in the alpaca. With excitement for its practical and luxurious properties they have taken a commanding lead in creating fashion and function from the alpaca fiber. Alpaca Royal is pleased to partner with the Australian Alpaca Fleece Limited in introducing this line of luxury fabrics to the US equestrian industry and beyond.
